Horror vacui
The HORROR VACUI project addresses the 'fear of empty space,' which manifests in consumer culture through the accumulation of things. These objects provide a false sense of abundance and fulfillment, though their true value for life is debatable and their physical presence is ephemeral. A chandelier 'sketched' solely by disrupting the surface of a cluster of optical fibers attempts to capture this fleeting nature. It encourages the viewer to pass through it, causing the image of the chandelier to vanish for a moment before stabilizing once again in its original form. The project thus reflects on the transient value of material possessions in contrast to the persistent void they attempt to fill.
