Soft rebel kit

The Soft Rebel Kit stems from a personal childhood experience shaped by rationality, control, and aesthetic minimalism. Growing up in an environment lacking spontaneous play, sensory stimuli, and emotional expression led to the experience of so-called “white emotionality“—a suppressed yet internally intense sensitivity.

This introspective framework expands into a broader social context, where childhood is increasingly influenced by technological media. Digitalization is replacing childhood, physical interaction, and sensory exploration, leading to a loss of playfulness, spontaneity, and the creative process.

The project addresses silent resistance—the “soft rebel”—as a strategy for rewriting functional, technical, and rational structures into formats that return to subjectivity, memory, and sensuality. Instructions, objects, and materials become carriers of intimate meaning, redefining the boundaries between function and play, control and sensitivity, and childhood and adulthood.
