Eyewear is a crucial aspect in the formation of personal identity—shaping both how individuals perceive themselves and how they wish to be seen by others. While people frequently change their clothing, hairstyle, scent, or demeanor, changes in eyewear are less common, as they are often bespoke and associated with high costs. On the face, they serve as a dominant visual anchor. The AMÉBA project explores the possibilities of formal variability in eyewear, alongside defining a subsequent manufacturing process that utilizes material remnants from small-batch or custom production. Using a series of mini-magnets, it is possible to compose specially treated materials onto a base frame, opening up a space for the wearer's creativity. These modifications alter not only the form of the glasses but the very expression of the face itself.
