Plan B for culture
Plan B refers to solutions in crisis situations. Throughout 2020, many circumstances arose that demanded a 'Plan B.' Culture and its status were pushed to the bottom of the priority list for support, not only from society but also from the state. With 'Plan B,' I react to the conditions in which culture found itself, offering a vision of what it might look like if it applied its expertise to a different profession.
SCAR
What would happen if a textile designer were to stitch wounds in a hospital? Would they use a standard mattress stitch, or would they instead utilize the techniques learned in their textile practice?
BANDAGE
Bandages are used in healthcare for binding and compression. However, could a bandage serve a different function? To educate, to reference a specific situation, or perhaps to spark a discussion?
CAST
A cast, as a fixation for a fracture, attracts the attention of those around us. But can a cast look different? Can it have an added function? And what would it look like if it were created by someone other than a healthcare professional?"
