Research – organic textile dyeing
The goal of my research is to preserve sustainable approaches to textile dyeing by utilizing natural pigments derived from food waste. These materials can replace synthetic dyes in textile production only if we reconcile with their specific aesthetics and shift our expectations. A change in our approach to textiles is vital.
Individuals must choose: would they rather see a fabric from which the natural color partially washes out over time, or do they prefer to own clothing that looks eternally the same, while ignoring the vast environmental damage left in its wake?
