Light
The installation titled Light is the result of searching for the boundaries between everyday life and the spiritual realm through the exploration of light from the perspectives of science, philosophy, and theology. The presence of light transforms a seemingly random assembly of everyday consumer objects into iconic sacred motifs. Light becomes a bridge connecting the spiritual and material worlds, which are otherwise separated by dualism. The paradox of light is expressed through the contrast between combining material objects and colored lights. While merging in the material world creates a greater mass of matter, the convergence of colored lights produces pure white light. Physical white light illuminates our visible world just as its presence in a spiritual sense gives meaning to life itself. The created space unifies the spiritual and material realms, offering an opportunity to perceive light without personal barriers or burdensome doctrines.
