A Hole into the Light / A Hole into the World

For my representative of the 'minimum,' I chose the hole. Any hole, anywhere. For me, it became a symbol of a shifting gaze—it can frame a specific detail, alter perspective, or open a completely new world 'behind the wall.' The core idea was to see the hole not as a defect, but as an opportunity. I searched for them in my surroundings, discovering what they could offer. Later, I began creating holes myself—through drawing. I placed them into various contexts, both real and imagined, which later served as the foundation for the final product.

The result is a series of lampshades—floor-standing and hanging, large and small. They are built on wooden frames into which paper is tensioned with a simple click-in mechanism. The rest is up to us: color, pattern... and especially the holes. These provide the passage for light. By puncturing the tensioned paper, we bring the illumination outward. And if there is too much light? The paper can simply be replaced with a new sheet.

These objects do not merely offer static aesthetics; they invite action. At the same time, the act of piercing the paper is a fantastic sensation, accompanied by an equally satisfying sound.
