W+W

W + W is an experimental material study in which water acts as a living, constantly changing element. Combined with wax, temporary interior objects and furniture emerge, exploring the mutability of the material in dialogue with water. The project observes the formation and dissolution of matter as a dynamic process where water serves as a medium enabling the shaping of volume, surface structures, and material properties.

I observe the mutability of objects over time — their impermanence, fragility, and continuous transformation. Each object is created as an original, capturing a unique moment of contact between the material and water. The material changes, adapts, and reacts to the environment.

The first experiments involved pouring hot wax onto ephemeral ice molds, where at certain moments the water adapted to the wax. Out of the contrast between two different materials, a new whole is formed. Later, I experimented with pouring boiling wax into cold and hot water, creating unique organic structures and surfaces.

I work with paraffin, palm wax, and their mutual combination. The result is a series of fragile wax lighting items and side tables set in contrast with metal elements. The objects thus balance on the edge between stability and uncertainty.
