Memorial
The Memorial collection of objects explores the themes of memory, its deformation, and subsequent reconstruction. Through various design and artistic techniques, I aim to capture the methods by which memories transform into subjective imagery of emotions. These techniques include the reduction of an object's characteristic elements—leading to a loss of identity—and the generalization of its silhouette, so it only vaguely resembles something with a familiar purpose. Furthermore, by obscuring fragments and censoring distinct features, a reduction of personality occurs. The Memorialcollection describes and illustrates my perception of the deformation of memories and the accompanying feelings of melancholy, while simultaneously accepting that every memory we hold is marked by an infinite cycle of change.
