Post-digital era Design

In my Master’s thesis, I explore the subject of artificial intelligence within the post-digital era. I examine the impact of this technology on design, on the human consumer, and on the surrounding world. As self-learning neural network technology continuously evolves, its benefits are accompanied by negative influences on our lives. Artificial intelligence processes all information about us, yet we still do not know to what extent it can intervene in control systems or our psyche through Big Data.

The intention of the practical part of my thesis is to convey to the viewer the importance of their participation in this process—to evoke a critical perspective on situations where AI is utilized as a means for learning or for creating statistics and stereotypes. Through an interactive installation, I aim to highlight the persistent interface between our human perceptions and the mathematical rigor of algorithms attempting to comprehend the intuitive processes of living organisms. I foreground the still-impenetrable boundary of an individual’s spontaneous actions, which are often difficult for the participants themselves to analyze.
