Collage as a Creative Approach in Design
The focus of this Master’s thesis is the application of collage and assemblage principles within both analog and digital environments, as well as their various combinations. The traditional view of collage and assemblage techniques, using physical objects, is currently being enriched by new possibilities through the use of digital libraries and open-access repositories of 3D models and textures within virtual spaces. This integration involves contemporary digital technological processes such as 3D modeling, 3D printing, 3D scanning, CNC milling, and digital printing.
The objective is to take original physical and virtual objects and process them through the forms of collage and assemblage within a new context. Emphasis is placed on expressing an authorial stance that accents various contemporary social themes.
