The luminaire works with the ambivalent emotions evoked by light coming from the outside—from behind a door left slightly ajar. On one hand, it evokes a sense of safety and the presence of loved ones in the next room; yet, it simultaneously triggers a fear of the unknown and uncertainty. This effect is further intensified by an animation imitating movement “out there”.
