Totality Winter survay 2023EN/SK
Definition
Totality – the completeness of a thing or phenomenon, perceived as unquestionable and immutable.Totalitarianism – a form of government and political system that exercises a total degree of control over both public and private life, enforcing power through elaborate ideology, often using violent and lawless methods. In this sense, we speak of totalitarian regimes, movements, and practices.

In a broader sense, we can also speak of manifestations of power practices and the restriction of individual freedom on political, social, and personal levels.

Thesis
Design is political. It cannot be disconnected from the current context in which it is created. It is a reflection of our privileges, values, and prejudices. It permeates all areas of life, which results in a high degree of societal responsibility.

„Design is political. Everything we create either reinforces or subverts the status quo.“
 Tony Fry
Assignment
The task is to examine and identify various manifestations of totality in the broadest context, including the discipline of design. Within the assignment, it is necessary to define one's own circle of issues and, through individual research methods, formulate and visualize conclusions in a design project.
