PAX EX...
„Pax ex... captures the state a person enters after experiencing unexpected and heavy life events. They find themselves in a reality they can neither fully bear nor understand. Once solid and clear structures have collapsed into a chaos formed by a multitude of small fragments of a formerly complex reality. Their attention narrows to small tasks, to repetitive gestures that become a way of survival and a silent meditation.
This fragmentation process manifests through gestures of unravelling and sorting, but also of breaking and rearranging. Grief, frustration, acceptance. Repeated touches with chaos serve to accept it and return to the essence. Repetitive activity becomes a meditative way of 'titrating' chaos in amounts that are bearable without being overwhelming. From small parts, gradually toward the larger whole.
The work captures a fragile yet deeply human process of reconciliation, accepting change, and the gradual building of a new reality—thread by thread, shard by shard.
Pax ex... is thus a meditation on the fact that peace does not arise from a desperate struggle to return to the past, but from the gradual acceptance of change and the patient reconstruction of one's own world—from the chaos we have decided and dared to embrace.
